I went to Montreal with my friends this weekend. My friend Eli goes to McGill University and lives right around all of the bars and clubs. We all crashed on his floor and lived the Canadian dream. It was ridiculous amounts of fun.
Phil's dad drove us all seven hours to Montreal. He loves the city, and took a little vacation for himself while we were running around. The whole trip all of us slacker NYC kids were talking about how we need to get our driver's licenses. We could have been kind of helpful.
This is Eli Mlyn. We went to pre-school together and played little league soccer. He is one of my oldest and dearest friends. He was preparing to DJ a house party he threw and the light was pretty cute.
This is Tim Penman. We met on 111th and Riverside when were 13 and I dragged him to Grant's Tomb with us. He is probably the reason why I did not quit skating in 8th grade. He is insanely goofy and hilarious.
This is Phil Wong. We all met him on 109th and Riverside in 2003 or so. Such a cute smile, eh?
A little warm up before we went out on the first night.
Wow. That trip was too much.

Jordan was in town picking up a friend of hers so me and Iavora went out to dinner with them at CPK. Jordan usually does not like getting her picture taken, this was no exception.

Peace Rallies Film Stuff
A while back in CoMO there were some peace rallies and I brought around my Pentax 35 MM and shot some film. All of these are on TMax 400 ISO scanned negative film.
I got a few nice photos methinks. I need to get closer to my subjects! It will be something I will work on this summer.

Last night together, for now
This was from our last night with Stuart before he went home to New York City. A celebration was in order.

Gnocchi
I have decided to drop out of journalism school to pursue my love of cooking at culinary school. Well, that is not true, but I like to cook. It rained all afternoon in NYC and I was going to be bored, until my mom asked me what I wanted for dinner. I flipped through an Italian cookbook and found a recipe for gnocchi. I love gnocchi, and this is what happened.
I know this makes me look like I made my mom do all of the work, but I really did do a lot of cookery.
This is the final product. The sauce was a butter and rosemary sauce that Iavora convinced me to do.
It was so good, I am so full.

Luke Freeman
I never posted these pictures, and I do not know why. These are from the classmate assignment I did for Fundamentals a few months ago, and I as I am going through my computer desperately searching for photos for a portfolio I run into him and his life. Luke Freeman is from
Fayetteville, AR and lives very differently from the way I do. I really appreciate him being so receptive to me taking his pictures and I am proud of the way I captured him. My only regret is that I did not get enough photos of him interacting with other people.
Thanks Luke!

Grill That Shit
Part of the college experience involves copious amounts of meat, and even more "beverages." We discovered that at the University of Missouri you can student charge meat. Needless to say we lived the college dream.
Have you ever seen a Thunderhawk fly?
Mad Real Monday
I was shooting around with the D3 for my final project, and in an attempt to get the cast members in a different environment, I went to Mad Real Mondays at Mojo's. Danny Randerson who plays David in the show is in a local hip hop group called Thieves' Guild and they played a set. I think this was probably my first time shooting a band performing, so that was fun. The D3 was perfect for it.

Danny doing a little dance.
Chris Lowe smoking some bones outside Mojo's.
I didn't end up using any of the photos in my project because only one cast member other than Danny showed up, but it was a fun show and I am happy I went. The CoMO local hip hop scene would make a very interesting story.

Orange Flower Water + D3
My final project for Fundamentals is shooting a play during its rehearsal. The play is entitled "Orange Flower Water" and it is by the playwright Craig Wright. Yesterday was one of my final days shooting the rehearsals, and I had the D3! It was a lot of fun to shoot with! It was nice yesterday because half of the cast was outside drilling lines, and it was a nice change of scenery from the inside florescent light game.
More of these to come.
