Richard Simmons

Sorry for such a long time without post but the quality and quantity of photo's I have taken has not been up to par.
Yesterday we went to a Walgreen's in Kirkwood to see the one and only Richard Simons! Despite a long wait and an asshole cop who harassed me for taking his picture it was a lot of fun.

Fifteen Minute Portraits Day Two

My best stuff from day two was when I worked with a model named Andre. He was very receptive to new ideas and would joke around while we were setting up the lights.

With the grid on the light.

Sans grid.

Fifteen Minute Portraits Day One

I just finished up a class at the International Center of Photography today called Fifteen Minute Portrait. The class actually took place at Splashlight which is a studio space on 35th street. The space was huge and the instructor David Turner was very informative and helpful. The things he had to say about the profession of photography were heart warming and motivated me to try harder. I took the class thinking it would be very focused on environmental portraits but it was more about quick lighting design for any type of portrait. It was lovely to play with huge lights and pliable models. So here are some shots from day one. All of these photos were taken with only one light, either a umbrellaed light from the side or a tremendous soft box.

Greetings from the NYC!

Greetings from the NYC! Iavora, Katie, Anjali, and myself have been having a crazy zany time with Stuart in the Big Apple. Today we went to MoMA and there were these awesome little kids infront of the Andy Warhol soup cans.

More pictures will come and hopefully better ones!

Little League!

At the Riverdale Press I have been shooting a ton of Little League games. It's nice because sports shooting is not something I was ever very confident with and the slower pace of the games makes it easier to get a decent shot. So here are a few selects from my time on the sidelines.

It is also fun to see all of these kids with lots of athletic ability and the whole community that forms around teams. I see the same parents at the games and they always have an incredible amount of enthusiasm. I should have done more sports as a kid, woops.

Josh and the Mushroom

There was a huge mushroom in Riverdale today!!!

Elena Potsou

My cousin Amy Potsou and her husband Mike commissioned me to take some pictures of their new born baby, Elena. This is the first time I have ever worked shooting portrait photography like this and I'm really happy with the results.

Jamming

I did a multimedia piece with another photographer from the Riverdale Press. It was at a fascinating jazz club right between Riverdale and Yonkers.

Garrison Keillor

The family went to Tanglewood to see Garrison Keillor (AKA Dale's long lost twin) this previous weekend. It was great to see the radio show live and we had a ton of good food out on the lawn. After the radio bit was done, all of the players came back on for an hour long singalong encore. I shot a million photos but could not get close enough to the stage to get a good photo with my 50. Then Garrison walked my way and I got a picture of him in the blue.
