Middlebury Quidditch Team

Today the Middlebury College Quidditch team blessed Riverside Park with their presence. I thought that the event would bring out a bunch of cute kids and wacky teenagers, and I was fairly correct. I got to the event right in the middle of it. And I saw the end of the last game where the cute children from the neighborhood played. Also, my event coverage takes a while to kick into full swing. So I had to warm up to shooting the game. So I didn't get a single good picture of the kids, but I got some interesting ones of the college kids playing. It was really easy to laugh at the dorkiness of the college students. But they were doing something really interesting. They were being creative and involving the community through a well know popular culture reference. The kids really enjoyed it, and the college students had a good time laughing and running around the field with a broomstick and ball. They were having the kind of fun you have when you are a camp counselor. That is the best kind of fun.

I took too many photos of their broomsticks. I only had my 50 on, and I never shoot sports, so there is not much action. I should have had a longer lens and I should have spent more time there, but other than that, I really enjoyed my time. And all of the players were super friendly and very recepctive to having their photos taken.
