404 Trash

We took out the trash last Sunday in preparation for Monday AKA Trash Day. Cleaning out the house has been a lot of work, and it is not done yet, but seeing all the trash on the sidewalk was a very satisfying experience. I used some of my environmental portrait skills from this summer to capture the moment.

Drastic Changes

The main topic of conversation for my first few days in Columbia was hair. There was too much in our lives. Will has forever looked like Shaggy from Scooby Doo so he was attacked the most. We sat on the back porch and went over drastic change and hair cuts and the life decisions we make. Anjali and Will decided to make a change. Here is proof.

These photos will forever remind me of the good times in college and the great things my friends are willing to do.

Wall Scrubbing

I moved back to Columbia about two weeks ago and into my house on North 10th Street. The last weeks have been relaxing and it has been good to be back and reconnect with people. When we first moved in we realized that we had to clean the basement before Grant moved it, but as Grant's move in became closer we still had done nothing. When Grant showed up he was horrified with the state of his room. The walls were filthy and little had been done about the carpeting and the old mattresses. We suddenly got motivated and Will and Grant started scrubbing away. I can safely say that Grant now has the cleanest room in the house.

Will knew what picture I was going for and looked into the light and photo magic was born.

Yesterday we had our first PhotoJ class of the year and I felt like taking pictures. Nothing really special just felt like posting.

Apalachicola, FL

The small town of Apalachicola, Florida is very near where I say and has some of the best seafood you can get. The entire town revolves around fishing, mainly Oysters, the Apalachicola river delta which is one of the most fertile river delta's in Florida.

Wilco Day in the Country

There was a Wilco show on Tuesday and my parents bought tickets for my birthday and Tim and Annie and I went up to Copake Falls and spent a day bumming around and then we went to Tanglewood and the show was so good but I took no photos. Here are some photos from the day.

Annie!

Tim!

Thanks for coming kids!

Construction on the Beach

Construction was being done right in front of our house to increase the size of the beach. They would use those large pipes to pump sand from out in the ocean onto the beach.

Big City! Bright Colors!

What more is there to say? Iavora is taken aback by Times Square

More from Florida

Today we went on a bit of a boat trip looking for scallops. Finding scallops was alittle less than successful but o well, had a nice time all the same.

Nursery Family Time

The family went looking for some plants the other day. Alice hid behind her Blackberry and I hid behind my camera.

Florida!

Well its about damn time! That's all I can say for myself. I have been in a bit of a funk for the last few days and feelings pretty unimpressed with myself, but now all I can say is shut the fuck up Will and keep shooting. = )

I've been in Florida with my family for the last few days and today is the first day we have internet so I figured a blog post was due (plus stu was probably about ready to kill me).

The view from our house. Sand is being brought in from the ocean to increase the size of the beach for both pleasure and protections from storms. Many houses were destroyed a year or 2 back during one of the hurricanes and the goal is to prevent that from happening again.

No this is not our house, but damn that blue is great.

More post will come soon with more pictures from Florida, New York, and beyond.

Summer Camp

I went to a camp the other day and I got over some of my greatest fears.

Sense of Humor?

I have been trying to make funny pictures in the last few weeks. I think the only way I can do it is by cutting off people's heads. Does anyone have better ideas for me?
